We are proud to inform members that TSC has entered the Lipton Cup Challenge 2026, to be hosted at RCYC from 25 to 29 August 2026. This event is the most prestigious inter-club regatta, sailed by top sailors! 

Lipton Challenge promised high-level competition, proud Club representation and the continuation of a legacy that defines SA sailing.

Linda Raubenheimer will ably and professionally manage our TSC sailors. 

TSC is proudly fielding a veteran Lipton campaign team, with Jimmy Jacka on the helm, Tony Largier (ex-commodore) on the main and Steve Raubenheimer on the bow. They bought the J22, CaCanny purposefully to sail Lipton Cup 26.

Together they claim almost 200 years of sailing experience across many classes on both coastal and inland waters. Between them they have also raced 11 Lipton Challenge Cup events.

The team is best known for successful campaigns on the Farr 38 Jackal – impressively with a regular crew boasting an average age of seventy.

Top honours have included overall winners in the 2024 Mykonos Offshore race and overall RCYC Club Class B Champions in both 2025 and 2026.
Tony is well known in the Stadt class for his 1st places, nationally and provincially.

So it’s ‘C’est la Vie’ for these three who will be falling back on their inside knowledge of Table Bay in their bid to bring the prestigious silver back to the Overberg in this 2026 edition of the Lipton Challenge Cup.
