TSC 9 Hour Challenge 2020

The 2020 edition of the popular TSC 9 Hour Challenge will take place on Saturday, 14th March.  Please register your boat below or yourself if you are available to crew.  More detail will be published closer to the time, so watch this space!

NSRI donation - R50 per entrantThe rules are simple:

  1. Start gun goes at 09:00. Finish closes at 18:00. You can start anytime and stop or pause at any time during these 9 hours.
  2. A course will be set and we will sail circuits of the dam and see how far we get during those hours.
  3. We calculate a distance sailed and then apply a boat handicap to determine the results.
  4. You may have a team and change crew during the day. You may stop for any reason e.g. lunch or an afternoon nap for as long as you want or sleep in and start later. Just remember the tortoise and the hare!
  5. There will be a Skippers Briefing on the stoep at 08:00
  6. Traditionally the race is for keelboats and catamarans. More safety boats will be required if we allow dinghies. If there are dinghies who would like to enter, please email msharwood@gmail.com and motivate.
  7. We will braai at the club on Saturday evening after sailing!

As this is predominantly a Keelboat & Hobie regatta, our skippers are always looking for crew.  Skippers, please enter your boat by completing the Skipper registration form.  If you are available on the 14th March and would like to sail, please complete the Crew registration form below.
